Is the school accredited?

Yes! Our Dental Assisting Program is accredited through the Indiana Department of Workforce Development - Office for Career and Technical Schools.

What is the job description for a dental assistant?

Dental Assistants are responsible for performing a variety of office, laboratory, and clinical duties. During dental visits, the assistants will work alongside the dentist in order to help with a range of procedures.


Dental Assistants will often times take x-rays, ask the patient about medical history, provide patients with pre and post-op instructions, take impressions of teeth, perform administrative duties and help to provide direct patient care in all aspects. 

How much does a dental assistant make?

Who do I contact if I'm having troubles with my school work?

Do I need previous education or experience?

Applicants must have a HSD or GED to be eligible for the program. All applicants must be 18 years or older.

Why should I consider becoming a dental assistant?

Dental Assisting is a career that is very rewarding - both personally and professionally. There is room for growth opportunities and there is a high demand for dental assistants. 

Do I have to buy textbooks?

Yes. Students are required to purchase the necessary textbooks. Please visit the "Students" tab for a detailed list of required textbooks.

What is the required uniform?

Each student will be required to wear the same uniform. Two sets of scrub pants and tops, and one scrub jacket will be included in your course fees. Once accepted, WRD Dental Assisting will provide you with a link where you can order your required uniform. 

Where is WRD Dental Assisting located?

The dental assisting school is located at our state-of-the-art dental office at 2380 Merchant Mile in Columbus, IN.
